Die Performance thematisiert die reale Geschichte dreier slowenischer Künstler (Davide Grassi, Emil Hrvatin and Žiga Kariž), die sich 2007 nach dem damals amtierenden neoliberalen konservativen slowenischen Premierminister Janez Janša umbenannt haben. The More of Us There Are, The Faster We Will Reach our Goal! ist eine dokumentarische Performance über den (amtlichen) Akt der Namensänderung. Erzähler – teilweise live, teilweise vom Band – führen die ZuschauerInnen durch die verschiedenen Stationen dieses Kunstprojekts. www.maska.si

In line with the thematic focal point Performing the Real, brut presents the production The More of Us There Are, The Faster We Will Reach our Goal! which ingeniously blurs the boundaries between reality and art, just like Fountain by Marcel Duchamp or Andy Warhol’s Campbell’s soup can. The performance deals with the true story of three Slovenian artists (Davide Grassi, Emil Hrvatin and îiga Kariï) who in 2007 renamed themselves after the then sitting, neoliberal, conservative, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janåa. The More of Us There Are, The Faster We Will Reach our Goal! is a documentary-style performance on the (official) act of changing one’s name. Narrators – partly live, partly pre-recorded – guide the audience through the different stages of this art project.
