Martin Nachbar

Seit 2005 arbeitet Martin Nachbar an urbanen Walks und beschreitet, immer auf der Suche nach bewegendem Material, zahlreiche europäische Städte. Für mnemonic nonstop ist er mit dem deutschen Choreografen Jochen Roller durch diverse Stadtgebiete gelaufen, um mit den gesammelten Eindrücken eine Inszenierung für die Bühne zu füllen, und für Incidental Journey hat er traumatische Ereignisse verschiedener europäischer Städte  erforscht und geführte Touren entlang der Schauplätze entworfen.
Nun startet der mittlerweile erfahrene „Walkman“ die Erforschung des Gangs zum Theater. Anlässlich seines Workshops im brut beschäftigt sich Nachbar in einer Lecture mit dem Gehen in der Stadt und mit den Erwartungen von BesucherInnen auf ihrem Weg zum Theater sowie mit der Frage, wie diese in  Gedichte oder Songtexte übersetzt werden könnten. Der zielstrebige Gang zum Theater wird durch Abbremsen, Beschleunigen und Umkreisen, durch Stolpern, Schlurfen und Tanzen zum Umweg – und führt womöglich doch zum Ziel.

Since 2005, Martin Nachbar has been working on urban “walks”, visiting numerous European cities always on the lookout for moving material. For mnemonic nonstop, he walked through various city regions together with German choreographer Jochen Roller in order to fill a stage production with the impressions he gained, while for Incidental Journey he explored traumatic experiences and designed guided tours to the trendiest places in various European cities. Now the experienced “walkman” takes a closer look at the trip to the theatre. On the occasion of his workshop at brut, Nachbar deals in his lecture with the expectations of visitors on their way to the theatre and with the question of how these can be translated into literary texts, poems or song lyrics. The determined trip to the theatre turns into a detour through slowing down, speeding up and circling around, through stumbling, shuffling or dancing – and may still lead to the destination.
