imagetanz-Eröffnung: BRUTTO meets imagetanz

The Italian collective BAROKTHEGREAT, the artist duo hoelb/hoeb and the monthly concert series BRUTTO join forces for the opening of the festival, where live music and performance will collide.

BAROKTHEGREAT show KOBRA, a rhythmic trance-like teaser to their work Indigenous, which can be seen at imagetanz on 7 and 8 March. KOBRA presents insights into BAROKTHEGREAT’s acoustic and spiritual world and evokes the image of evil, the snake, with trance-like rhythms and crude movements.

For this special occasion the folks behind BRUTTO have invited the wild children of Berlin chanson Princessin Hans and the infamous Vienna stage duo NINCOMPOOP. The duo Princessin Hans, exceptionally performing as a trio for the opening, has conquered fans’ hearts with a daring mix of chanson, jazz and punk plus their passion for playing with common clichés of celebrity and identity. Whether it’s part of a DIY punk rock evening, a live intermezzo at a club or as a freak show act at an exhibition opening, NINCOMPOOP has been painting Vienna’s subcultural off-off locations (from EKH to Fluc) red since 2001, ensuring brutally glittering-glamorous performances.

The artistic duo hoelb/hoeb treat the audience to “primary care” with David Jagerhofer and deal in all sorts of consumable substances! There will be weighing, mixing, measuring, capsuling and consumption. Risks and side effects  guaranteed!

Following the live acts Dafne Boggeri, Italian artist and member of BAROKTHEGREAT, will spin a fitting set as DJ Tzaziky & Crack, and mutant disco sounds will open up unimagined dimensions of dance!
