Owen Pallett proves that chamber music and pop music go together well. The multi-instrumentalist Pallett has made a name for himself under the alias Final Fantasy, by constructing multi-layered orchestral sound landscapes armed only with a violin and a loop station in his live shows. Following the ingenious Heartland, he has now produced another gem in the form of his new album In Conflict. The new songs have something reduced yet opulent to them, and a very personal notion shines out between the melancholic but still humorous lyrics. Pallett brings his band to the concert at brut, which allows him to translate the dense sound of the alum into an equally impressive live concert.
