In THIS IS SO F*** DANCE! the artist duo Laia Fabre and Thomas Kasebacher delve into popular culture focusing on folk dance and its community-forming function. Combining various elements of music, singing and dance they ask how dealing with traditions and values can be reconciled with today’s society coined by popular culture. With regard to traditional folk dance, the focus is on a new kind of symbiosis from touching, moving and sociability. THIS IS SO F*** DANCE! will lure its audience into a new world of wild dancing, dubious devices and a soundtrack produced by the performers themselves. In the end the biggest challenge for the audience will be to remain quiet in their seats. Let THIS IS SO F*** DANCE! shake your ground!

FOLKDANCE LESSONS
Immediately after the performance on 29 November Laia Fabre and Thomas Kasebacher call for a somewhat different (folk) dance class. For this freestyle lesson the two are joined by performer, songwriter and radio artist Gérald Kurdian, who also acted as a consultant for THIS IS SO F*** DANCE!. Along the lines of “Get down and party together”, an entirely new dance experience is created together with the participants. Admission free!
FOLKDANCE LESSONS is part of the series Secret Ingredients: In its last season before the new artistic team takes over, brut launches the one-year series in addition to co-productions and guest performances. Local and international artists who have continuously collaborated with brut during the past years give insight into their artistic work process and methods. More Information
