Rural flight and return, alienation and constructed homelands have been pressing issues several times, and not only for those who came to Vienna from elsewhere. Even the Rabtaldirndln once ventured to leave the oppressive, paternalist structures of their work and family relations behind. But then, one day, they understood that it doesn’t get better anywhere. In a world that takes mobility for granted the Dirndln reopen the topic of striking roots. Inspired by the German TV programme Aktenzeichen XY … ungelöst (compare Crimewatch or America’s Most Wanted), YOU LEFT develops into a kind of heimat show encouraging return. The Rabtaldirndln become stage detectives, they present self-made films, narrate and re-enact scenes of missed ex-locals in the city and look at suitable fates in the performance collective’s own personal milieu. Why is it always the best people who leave? That is the question that bothers the Rabtaldirndln. And who will know if not them, because after all, they also left the Rabtal valley once, before they returned to run they radical tavern.
The Rabtaldirndln are a theatre collective from Graz that has existed since 2003. They generally appear as a formation unlike a squadron. Occasionally, they will be joined by scattered guests, who get absorbed in the production vortex and then spat back out. Smash-hit Jukebox with Marianna and Sonja

Following the Saturday performance of YOU LEFT, crooner duo Marianna and Sonja, a Rabtaldirndln splinter group, present smash hits and evergreens according to the jukebox principle. For no more than a euro per song, the brut bar transforms into a very particular evergreen/heimat-music heaven with songs by Helene Fischer (Fieber spür'n), Nicole (Ein bisschen Frieden) and the Eurythmics (Sweet Dreams). Admission free!

Smash-hit Jukebox with Marianna and Sonja is part of the series Secret Ingredients: In its last season before the new artistic team takes over, brut launches the one-year series in addition to co-productions and guest performances.
