Erstes Wiener Heimorgelorchester
Wir haben die Orgeln nur von unseren Kindern geborgt
“I think there are few pop music groups who get to the bottom of what is basically the human condition as thoroughly as the Erstes Wiener Heimorglerorchester.” Austrofred
The Erstes Wiener Heimorgelorchester has been playing on their small, cheap electronic keyboards for 20 years now. From cover versions to minimalistic tracks with lyrics made up of two, or at the most four, lines, from pop songs to literature scores (Konrad Bayer, Ror Wolf, Andreas Okopenko and the like), the EWHO has passed a variety of phases that all continue to exist simultaneously. For its 20th birthday, the band of four presents their new Album Happy Lamento, the book widerstand ist ohm and a live show in which the history of the EWHO is walked through by means of music. This concert night marks an extract from the band’s history from its beginnings ‒ sitting at keyboards on ironing boards and playing crude cover versions ‒ to the songs from the current album, and it celebrates the stuffy electric sound of cheap keyboards with excellent electronic pop songs. www.ewho.at; www.facebook.com/heimorgelorchester
