Who shot the Princess? Boxstop Telenovelas

brutproduktion

After an outing to Mexico and opening the bestOffstyria festival in Graz, the transnational performance Who shot the Princess? Boxstop Telenovelas is once again making a pit stop in Vienna. Flor Edwarda Gurrola, who became a Mexican-child-television star with La vida en el espejo, wanders through the world of telenovelas and transforms herself into un/dead princesses: As Infanta she experiences a Elfriede-Jelinek-Snow-White déjà vu in the forest, as Carlota of Mexico she celebrates a fatal comeback with Emperor Maximilian, and as Frida Kahlo she really just doesn’t want to perform any more. Fleeing from the television business she eventually falls in love with a pasión rebelde, in which melodrama and militancy become one.

On 6 September this production opened the bestOffstytria Festival in Graz.
