For the first time in its history, Gob Squad is turning the stage over to a group of eight to fourteen year olds. While the audience observes them in a sort of protective room with a one-way see-through mirror, like insects caught in a jelly jar, the children take a look into the future – onto themselves as adults – and at the same time look back with nostalgia at their most recent past. While some seek to stop the process of ageing and to conserve their youth, others prepare themselves to leave their childhood behind for evermore.
Before Your Very Eyes is the last part of a trilogy in which the Belgian production house CAMPO has developed theatre works with children for an adult audience. www.gobsquad.com
