toxic dreams
Collapsonomics
“Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
the good citizens of our global shopping mall.
Tonight we get rid of the word
RECESSION
There is no recession, no
re, re, re, re, cession
So, put on your weekend outfit
And go out hopping into shopping …” Libretto Collapsonomics
With Collapsonomics, toxic dreams is following up their musical theatre production Pink Vanya (2008) and bringing together two of the biggest economic masterminds to compete head-to-head: Friedrich August Hayek and John Maynard Keynes. A rattling moderator directs us through the evening, and an invisible oracle systematically removes words from the language, while pianos seem to play as if by magic. Bruno Kreisky, Ronald Reagan, and ‘Iron Lady’ Margaret Thatcher all drop by disguised as the invisible hand of the market. www.toxicdreams.at
