God's Entertainment

MAN BLEIBT EIN LEBEN LANG BEI GOD'S ENTERTAINMENT

Erstaufführungbrutproduktion

Opening: 6. October, 8 pm
Closing gala: 15 October, 10 pm

“Well, you know the sort of character we’re talking about, just do it yourself.” Richard Lowenstein, Dogs in Space, 1986

“I am eye. I am a mechanical eye. I, a machine, am showing you a world the likes of which only I can see... My road is towards the creation of a fresh perception of the world. This I decipher in a new way the world unknown to you.” Dziga Vertov

brut occupied. God’s Entertainment stays! brut im Konzerthaus will get squatted by God’s Entertainment – more or less voluntarily – and during the ten-day event will transform it into a film studio under the motto Always Cinema. From a Nouvelle-Vague set on through to Western scenery, the experimentation and filming will continue without pause. While visitors can wander from one film genre into the next, they can learn the craft of fake cinematography in workshops, or mutate into a leading actor on one of the various sets. The studio’s daily routine is characterised by escapism, (re)presentation of banality, and fragile utopias. This dream factory made by God’s Entertainment conceptualises a grand image of today that constantly faces up to the challenges of its visitors’ critique anew. To wrap it all up, the squatters will hold a gala and select the best performers. And because a whole lifetime is too long for brut, the Konzerthaus’s cellar will be peacefully cleared afterwards. www.gods-entertainment.org
