The Hand: Painted/Repainted/Prepainted is the most up-to-date work of Moscow-based media artist Patrick K.-H. and Viennese musician Burkhard Stangl, who previously worked together in 2010/11 as part of Music here, Music there. Wien – Moskau [Vienna – Moscow]. The performance is an extended writing and painting performance for white paper, black colour, brush, wooden guitars, mini cams, white canvases, sound pickups, live electronics, and video systems embedded in guitar sounds and an electronic setup. Equipped with all these tools, Patrick K.-H. and Burkhard Stangl explore the transformation into manifest forms of thoughts, emotional states, movements, and gestures through writing, sound making, stroking, groping, and touching during this evening.
