Christiane Rösinger
Liebe wird oft überbewertet
“Grand master of intelligent, funny, ironic texts.” FM4
Christiane Rösinger wrote the book for singles and everyone who wants to remain so. Liebe wird oft überbewertet, [Love is often overestimated], named after one of her popular songs, is a guidebook, a collection of anecdotes, and a cheerful cultural history. The piece mercilessly shines a light on couples’ misery and explains interpersonal cohabitation from “affair” to “breaking up”. Rösinger went into the heart of darkness of the couple’s dictatorship and read about 100 common guides to singlehood and couplehood which she used to create one of the most entertaining analyses and categorisations of this genre. The founder, singer, and lyricist of the Berlin-based band Lassie Singers and Britta introduces her book in brut as a multimedia show with the love researchers’ muddled graphics and explains complicated relationship patterns. The show band (Claudia Fierke, Andreas Spechtl, and Stefan Pabst) underscores the stories around the couples’ dramas, intervenes in order to regulate and stimulate, and accompanies the reader for her songs.
