Dieter Kovacic & Mimu Merz
PLECCCHHAZUNNGGA! oder die sexuelle Konditionierung des Raketenmenschen
On the occasion of the seventy-fifth birthday of the “hysterical realist” Thomas Pynchon, Dieter Kovacic, better known as dieb13, presents in brut the lecture performance PLECCCHHAZUNNGGA! oder die sexuelle Konditionierung des Raketenmenschen [or the sexual conditioning of the rocket man]. In a head-on presentation style interrupted by performance elements, Kovacic gets to the bottom of the things that are a matter of course for human interaction – also called “culture” – and pursues the question of what a volcanic eruption might have to do with the invention of the bicycle.
Afterwards, Mimu Merz – the source of swirling word clouds, introverted singing, and instrumental outputs from a wry violin to a resounding accordion – together with Peter Kutin (live electronics) and David Schweighart (drums & guitars) provide the musical-hysterical continuation of the evening. The three of them create a special kind of listening event with their sympathy for delicate sounds and the connection of narrative elements with experimental contemporary music, flexibility, and situationism.
