Romantic girl and her friends question romantic socialisation: how have films such as Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman or tear-jerkers by Prince, Whitney Houston, & the rest moulded the video-clip generation, and is it at all possible to abandon oneself entirely to heart-warming kitsch without cynicism?
Romance with all its dramatics takes over brut for an emotional evening: slow dances to romantic tunes will be learnt, roles from major romantic-film classics will be slipped into, the heartache hymns of the divas and kings can be passionately sung along to, romantic memories are shared with the audience, and naturally, the dancing will be as close and dirty as all get out. Eleven artists present their views of romance with statements in the form of performances and installations and together with the audience and its own experiences fuel the fires of passion.
