The audio-visual festival sound:frame is putting the framework conditions of audio-visual tendencies and works up for discussion for the first time this year under the title substructions. Themes such as cultural economy, positioning in art contexts, and sustainability are examined with regard to the “festival” system and make up the focus of the exhibition, conference, and supporting programme. During the first festival weekend, in cooperation with brut, they will be presenting selected international live performances between eclectic cutting-edge sounds in the field of tension between Jazz, Hip-Hop, Future Beats, Bass Music, House, and other genres. Participants: Taylor McFerrin, son of the legendary Bobby McFerrin, who releases his music on Flying Lotus’s label Brainfeeder, Berlin-based producer Comfort Fit and the young Eastern European label Svetlana Industries that invites you to a showcase with the Slovenian Berlin resident-by-choice Nightwave, the Bulgarian duo 1000names, and other acts who will be performing together with Austrian visualist’s crew kon.txt. In addition, the sound worker, producer, and video artist Harry Jen from Linz will be a guest with the premiere of his solo live show.
