Salon im Grünen #4: l’odeur de la décomposition
In autumn, inspired by the scent of decaying leaves, united sorry continue their Salons im Grünen [Salons in Nature]. Frans Poelstra and Robert Steijn go out into nature for the fourth time now to conquer a piece of cultivated greenery in the midst of urban space. In the garden of the Institut Français de Vienne, united sorry meet Christine Laquet from France and Swiss sound artist and composer Robin Meier. Laquet connects the invisible forces of nature with the incomprehensible laws of capitalism in order to address the question of how to deal with a world that is increasingly spinning out of control. Meier uses the secret of organic systems in order to produce music or choreographies: so he spontaneously starts up a duet with a midge or manipulates the movements of ants into a wild ballet. As a link between the two artists and as a mediator between nature and the audience, united sorry are literally all aflutter about how much nature itself becomes a part of their work while they are in the midst of it. They by all means want to share this enthusiasm with Vienna’s inhabitants. Welcome in the Salon im Grünen #4: l’odeur de la décomposition. www. unitedsorry.com
