Turning Turning (a choreography of thoughts)
Three performers try to pre-empt their train of thoughts and always keep their mouths one step ahead. They do not mince their words, talk about forgotten stories, memories, dream images, and belt out words they didn’t even imagine they knew at all. The stage fills up with uncensored real-time language, thus overcoming moral, political, and even intellectual obstacles to the everyday use of language. This talk is contextualised with video statements by experts commenting on the process of thinking and the production of language. Sarah Vanhee’s choreography of the unspoken shows how humans are constructing themselves through and in language. www.sarahvanhee.com
