16. internationales SZENE BUNTE WÄHNE Tanzfestival für ein junges Publikum 2013

Junges Theater Basel

Kei Aber!

Österreichische Erstaufführung

The dance theatre piece Kei Aber! [No but!] deals with seven young persons who want to discover which values are really important to them. Honesty! Justice! Openness, tolerance, awareness, and nonviolence! Courage, trust, and love! Being absolute! Values that are almost like tattoos on the skin. Words that are important to them and that they want to carry out into the world. The young dancers are searching for the absolute, what is non-arguably right. Are there still such values? If there are, who determines them? Are all allowed to have a say? And if so, when is there No but? Do we still venture to maintain values today, or is it all arbitrary? Everything is possible. Everything is allowed. Who dares to describe something as irrefutable? Aren’t we in the process of getting mired down in general liberality? But then is anything still important? Or is that finally freedom? The seven performers powerfully present on stage what is important to them, their own ideals, they provoke and manipulate, they’re looking for limits!
