Kino unter Sternen: Eröffnungsparty

Kino unter Sternen [Cinema Under the Stars] is transforming the Karlsplatz into an open-air cinema of the very special sort from 28 June to 20 July. There are two main topics for the 2013 film programme: Richtung Zukunft – Versprechungen und Aufbrüche [Headed for the Future – Promises and Departures] tells the story of the beginnings and finding of an Austrian cinema aesthetic with current and early works. Unter Wolfsmenschen [Among Werewolves], in contrast, presents departures of a very different kind: the limelight is focused on those European exiles who searched for a new home in Hollywood and worked through what they experiencedin films about shape-shifters.
