VELAK Gala #79
Konzertreihe für experimentelle Musik
The VELAK Gala is presenting another concert for the unbelievable 79th time, but this time there will be several concerts on one evening. One of them will be with Brigitta Bödenauer, an active member of Vienna’s noise and experimental scene since the early 1990s, who will be performing with Susanna Gartmayer, who has been playing for years with the improvisation and sound possibilities of the bass clarinet. For their collaboration they’re especially interested in abstract soundscapes and rhythmic and poly-rhythmic figures. In the 20Hz – 2.4GHz* sound performance, Kristen Roos presents sounds generated by linking several microphones on various objects, for instance an electric razor and a back massager. The artist’s breathing and heartbeat, the 2.4-GHz humming of a microwave oven, the crackling of a WLAN router or even the spaces’ resonance itself combine to form a sound that is broadcast from radios distributed throughout the audience. http://bb.klingt.org/, http://gartmayer.klingt.org, www.kristenroos.com, www.manuelknapp.com, http://makinotakashi.net/, www.mariachavez.org, http://velak.klingt.org
