united sorry & friends
the forest project
After their one-year engagement with the relationship between eros and ecology, and their mythic-erotic lounge as part of the unplugged festival Up to Nature, united sorry have meanwhile become experts in green ecstasy. Frans Poelstra and Robert Steijn have taken a liking to the distinctive conversation with trees in particular. On the occasion of steirischer herbst 2013 they settled in with the forest project in a small forest in the Styrian province. Several young choreographers and dancers – Pieter Ampe, Vass Imre, Jean Baptiste Veyret-Logerias – accepted their invitation to slip together into a nymph costume and watch the sunset. For brut, united sorry will now be producing an indoor-version of the project with this ensemble, translating the atmosphere of the first encounter in Styrian nature into the theatre space. With the help of visual artist Anke Philipp and the musical support of Martin Siewert and Steve Heather, the brut stage becomes an archaic-organic landscape in which you encounter dancing fauns and singing nymphs. Instead of imposing a romantic idea of nature on the public, however, the forest project supports a sensitisation for the environment. No matter whether forest, city or theatre, united sorry reclaims what often seems lost: the awareness of your own surroundings. www.unitedsorry.com
