Dorian Wood
As the blogger and queer scene in Los Angeles cheered: “Dorian Wood is an enigma. A genius. Possibly a soothsayer. But, really, just a man that will move you with his words and his music unlike most any other artist you’ll ever encounter.” This exceptional musician, who remains mostly unknown in Europe, masterfully moves in a spectrum of emotional piano sessions à la Antony and the Johnsons to noisy, experimental, violent music performances in which his charismatic voice is reminiscent of Scott Walker and Tom Waits. Before dedicating himself to his solo career, Dorian Wood was one of the leaders of the experimental orchestra Killsonic and worked with (among others) Marina Abramović on her piece An Artist’s Life Manifesto. In February, the impressive musician and performer presented his most recent album, Rattle Rattle, on his first Europe tour, an epic collection of songs that deal with Judgement Day. With Dorian Wood’s concert, brut is looking forward to a highly emotional show full of queer performance and eccentricity! www.dorianwood.com
