The Baroque period’s insistence on richness forms the point of departure for an examination of the themes of flesh and opulence. Doris Uhlich becomes a talkshow host: In mehr als genug (more than enough) she asks herself and her guests how the body becomes a trademark and what this means. The choreographer and performer Doris Uhlich, who arts and culture journalists like to describe as a “corpulent dancer“, deals with beauty ideals and the body – the business card of performers – in her performance. In live telephone conversations she interviews people whose bodies do not represent the (beauty) norm. What is that strange phenomenon of our time that we want to be unique without breaking ranks?

Erste Fassung entstanden in einer Residence in Les Subsistances/Lyon im Februar 2009, Uraufführung in Les Subsistances/Lyon am 5.März 2009. Weiterenwickelte Fassungen für das Centre Pompidou/Paris im Oktober 2009 und brut/Wien im Jänner 2010.
