Was bleibt?
“I would like to imagine that I can dance through my life. That there is movement for every moment in my life…” Milli Bitterli
Milli Bitterli has been going into private apartments in Switzerland, Japan, Finland, Germany, and Austria accompanied by a camera since the year 2004. Without having entered the apartments beforehand, she develops a situational choreography from the relationships between the architecture, the camera, and the attendant host. For Was bleibt? Bitterli projects the films onstage and performs a newly developed choreography to the projection. A space opens up between the spontaneity caught on film and the live dancing onstage that bestows the expression of the wish for the unlimited duration of movement and an abstract and yet emotional representation. Something begins, forms itself anew, and is constantly on the move, always searching for the answer to the question: What remains?
