Up to Nature
Fiksdal/Langgård/Becker - Night Tripper
In Night Tripper, choreographer Ingri Midgard Fiksdal, composer Ingvild Langgård, and stage designer Signe Becker explore nature and how it is perceived in an animist worldview: as an area in which both nature’s healing and destructive forces prevail, and as a place of immanence and transcendence. Old mythologies encounter modern, everyday life and merge into a supernatural, almost intangible fairy tale. Night Tripper is inspired by voodoo culture’s notions and aesthetics in which remaining too long at a crossroads turns true believers into “Divine Horsemen”. A concert performance, a ritual, a social event, or simply a path into the forest which uses the dusk supported by the seven performers, numerous instruments and installations, the student choir from Federal Grammar School 18, and mighty spirits to abduct the audience into the night.
