The Gap Release 129

Die Türen live mit ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

After Angela Richter has probed into the heart of the Darknet with her performance ASSASSINATE ASSANGE, The Gap takes over to push the night further with glamour and discourse. A new gem of a magazine is celebrated, and, as always, insults for unjustified and praise for justified scathing reviews are accepted. On the occasion of the meanwhile 129th The Gap Release, this time you can look forward to a concert by the Berlin-based group Die Türen, who will be dropping by with their most recent and fourth album ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ. For one evening, with the utmost musical professionalism, they will let punk, Kraftwerk, Roland Barthes and Michel Foucault collide with Rio Reiser and Neil Young. And true to this boundless quoting, they are blessing the listeners of ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ with collages such as “Knowledge means ‘Destroy what destroys you’” or “Bad people have no songs, they only load them down”. For the new album, the three Türen and founders of staatsakt – one of the most important German Indie labels in the meantime – Ramin Bijan, Gunther Osburg and Maurice Summen were joined by Andreas Spechtl (Ja, Panik) on the guitar and Chris Imler (Jens Friebe Band among others) on the drums. www.dietueren.de; http://www.tape.tv/channel/10_tueren
