In Night Tripper, choreographer Ingri Midgard Fiksdal, composer Ingvild Langgård and stage designer Signe Becker explore nature and how it is seen in an animist worldview: as an area in which both healing and destructive forces of nature rule, and as a place of immanence and transcendence. Old mythologies encounter modern, everyday life and merge into a supernatural, barelypalpable fairytale. Night Tripper is inspired by the beliefs and aesthetics of voodoo culture, where remaining too long at a crossroads transforms true believers into ‘divine riders’. This is a concert performance, a ritual and a social event that makes use of the twilight to carry the audience away through the Vienna Woods into the night.
